It’s officially April which means the annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is back! The beautiful tulip gardens are blossoming, and the event will bring together the whole community. From April 1 – April 30, there will be plenty of activities, events, and food for all, so here’s what you need to know if you’re planning to attend.
Drawing from years past, mid-April is typically when the tulips are in full bloom, but it varies year to year because of factors such as rainfall, sunlight, and temperature. And if the tulip gardens aren’t enough, Skagit Valley also has tulip and daffodil fields for visitors to enjoy!
According to the official Tulip Festival website, the tulips are currently in early color status. This means that colorful tulip buds are finally popping out, sprinkling across Skagit Valley. The next stage will be in full bloom and then end with a last chance to see the tulips in their glory at the end of April/beginning of May.
If you’re planning to visit, make sure to get your tickets soon because they will sell out! It is also important to note that there is not just one location for the festival, as it is spread out with many locations for the gardens, fields, restaurants, and other activities. Stay up to date with the Tulip Festival’s calendar of events for this festival season. Finally, as we know living in Washington, the springtime weather can be unpredictable. Make sure to check the forecast and the website for updates on what will be open so you can dress accordingly.
